Welcome to #smallbusinesssaturdays with @twinmamawama! This week’s passion project is highlighting Cookiecasions by Rachel Medeiros located in Mansfield, MA. Her beautifully packaged cookie kits have been taking local mom groups by storm, and for good reason. They are beautiful, special, fun, and help provide an artful entertainment to be enjoyed by young and old alike.
Rachel has always loved to bake, and loves even more when she can use her creativity. Around Christmas 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, she decided to offer DIY cookie kits to friends on Facebook. What started out as 12 boxes exploded into over 100 and hasn’t stopped since. Rachel loves being able to do this out of her home while being with her four kiddos. They each like to add their own ideas, which makes the process even better for Rachel that her kids get to be involved in her business.
The birthday kits have become a family favorite because each one is unique. They haven’t had the same combination twice! The unexpected financial impact has been exciting, but the best reward for Rachel has been the amazing feedback from customers, friends, and family. She loves “meeting” new people and being able to spread some creative kindness. She is looking forward to what’s to come and to be able to help support causes that mean so much to others. Right now she is running a charity project with her St. Patrick’s Day kits. She is donating 20% of sales from these kits to the Joe Andruzzi Foundation. Her heart is so big.
To place a custom order with Cookiecasions Rachel uses a jotform on her Instagram page (link found in the profile): @cookiecasions. You fill out the form which includes pickup date and time, what type of kit, personalization, allergies, theme, etc. and she takes it from there. Also listed are the seasonal/holiday/themed boxes she has available. Then on your date and time she offers a very organized, contactless porch pickup. I picked one up on a very busy New Year’s Eve themed day, and never saw another person (despite there being rows and rows of boxes lined up). Look at this setup she had for Valentine’s Day! Go Rachel! #womensupportingwomen #womanownedbusiness

We love the cookie kits from Cookiecasions in our house! We got the NYE kit and the twins each got a kit for their birthday. We have so much fun decorating together, and a huge bonus is that the cookies and frosting are DELICIOUS and the the toppings are so fun. Colby doesn’t love a lot of cookies, but these ones he always eats and asks for more! Cammy loves to eat the crunchy toppings, and Kyla loves the decorating and eating the frosting. I love what the kids come up with, and I happen to really enjoy decorating the cookies, too! We had family over for the twins’ birthday and they enjoyed this activity as well.
I have expressed in the past that I don’t find myself to be a creative person, and often struggle through activities with my kiddos because I lack vision. Well, the great things about these kits is that Rachel gives you all the tools to be creative. These are some of our masterpieces that we had so much fun creating:
